The Situation
While navigating diverse stakeholder groups, we aimed to partner with Walmart for a beta launch, integrating with their wallet feature in the Walmart app. Meanwhile, FIS wanted us to leverage the terminal payment software from our Worldpay department. We needed to align on the best point of entry for the user to accommodate both requests.
The Task
In leading rapid iteration and user experience, I was tasked with defining the point of entry for a high-quality prototype within three weeks, showcasing our product integration with Walmart's app. I started by downloading and assessing the Walmart app, documenting every possible access point for the new feature. Following this, I meticulously documented the UX provisioning for each payment method offered in their wallet. This process ensured a comprehensive understanding of potential integration points to deliver a seamless user experience.
The Action
In this project, I quickly developed a prototype for Walmart and provided strategic recommendations for a beta test, focusing on the optimal point of entry and onboarding experience. The goal was to identify the most intuitive access point to onboard users efficiently to the new payment method, leveraging iterative research to refine the approach.
The Result
By fostering effective communication and collaboration, we cultivated an innovative solution that drove a successful onboarding experience, seamlessly integrating stakeholder needs without compromising a positive user experience.
This approach secured buy-in from Walmart, allowing for more iterative testing using the recommended point of access and authentication integration.
Additionally, our efforts led to securing a patent for the Dragon app, underscoring the impact and originality of our solution.
